Review: Caramel

The other day I attended a screening at the AFI theatre host by my Menter about one of this blogs biggest supports, Bob Mondello.

Well he doesn't really matter, because what this post is about is the film that was screened: "Caramel", a lebonese film about four women working in a barber shop. Its a lot like Mystic Pizza, except its good.

Caramel focuses on the everyday life these women have and the everyday challenges they face. It's cute, not great, but pretty good and worth checking out especially because of the way it's shot. It uses incredibly viberant colors that create a sense of sensuality throughout the film (aka. its kinda sexy).

Whats really amazing is that this is the director/writer/lead actress's first feature film and non of the actresses have ever done any acting before this movie.

Its recommended especially if your looking for a nice evening (maybe a good couples night movie -- you'll have a good afterwards discussion.)
